photoshop project 2

This is another from that class, we were dealing with text, and i decided upon a tattoo style, using my own arms as the base, then a few hours studying various ways people have made tattoo art look real in photoshop, I finally figured out how to use the layer mask to help distort the text onto my arms in a realistic fashion. the bit with my thumb coming out of the picture was actually my instructor's idea, to just add to the message I was trying to portray.

This is a piece I did for my beginning art class, the assignment was simply to create something that speaks "flower" without just recreating a flower image, and since I had never used photoshop extensively, it took a while, but I think it turned out alright.
